We are pleased to announce the appointment of Russell Mason to the Board of Directors. Russell is a highly respected leader in the superannuation and financial services sectors, bringing over 40 years of experience advising corporate and industry funds on governance, strategy, compliance, and operational excellence.
Russell has held senior executive roles at Deloitte and Mercer, where he was instrumental in building Australia’s leading superannuation advisory practices. His extensive expertise includes advising boards on regulatory obligations, performance enhancement, member engagement strategies, and complex fund mergers. He currently serves as a Director of State Super and Deputy Chair of the Police Superannuation Advisory Committee, contributing to the governance of funds with combined assets exceeding $40 billion.
Admitted as a Solicitor, Russell’s legal and commercial acumen is complemented by his long-standing affiliation with the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), where he has served as Director, Chair of the NSW Division, and Chair of the Editorial Committee of Superfunds, the association’s flagship publication.
Russell’s appointment enhances the Board’s capability in delivering strong governance, strategic growth, and superior member outcomes. His proven leadership, deep sector knowledge, and extensive industry network are valuable assets as we continue to execute our long-term strategic objectives.
